penspinner777, more commonley known as s777, is a very famous and very world renowned pen spinner from France. s777 is well known for his ability to excel in majority if not all of the main catagories of pen spinning. These include smoothness, variety, difficulty, tempo, control, creativity and presentation. Many claim s777 to be the strongest spinner in the world.

Spinning Ability

s777's style and spinning is one that is able to emphasize presentation, but does not have to compensate for spinning ability.

What will be noticed immediatly is that s777 usually spins at a slow pace. This does not mean that doing tricks will be easier, in fact tricks can be harder at a slow pace as it can require more control to keep the same smoothness. This enables him to have unorthodox, difficult and dexteric links, that most spinners/viewers can recognize easier and more fully appreciate. In otherwords, his spinning style is able to emphasize clarity, and uses this factor show his full skills as a pen spinner as oppose to using flashy and fast based tricks.

s777 is known for his abilities in the sonic, bak, bust, free spins, wiper and virtually all trick families. Many of his combos will incorperate all of these trick families which most spinners can automatically appreciate. For example, s777 is exellent at doing continous tricks having a very mentionable record of 50x FL TA and 50x Bust record. s777 is also one of the first, if not the only to incorperate bak fall 2.5 in a full combo in the World Cup 2008 and the only so far to perform a bakfall 3.5. s777 sonics always have amazing dexteric variations, swithching finger positions constantly, unorthodoxly switching from normal to inverse sonics and is one of the best users and first known to use an "Inverse Flush Sonic". s777's wipers are usually swing at a well controlled consistant pace, and are usually combined with dexteric finger abilities. s777 also has shown great use with inverse shadows, and has shown high rotation amounts with thumbindex spin at a mentionable "19.5" rotations, and also using this profficiently in full combos.

When talking about control and smoothness, s777 is usually with grouped with others in the top of the list. Because s777 is able to keep his slow tempo so consistant while performing highly difficulty tricks, smoothness and control come naturally to his combos. Usually when a pen spinner performs what is considered a difficult trick it is done quickly and the hand may stumble slightly if not quite a lot. s777 is one who can perform world class difficult tricks, while keeping his tempo at his own pace. s777's pen rarely shows signs of rouchness and so is able to fully lead the pen, the pen does not lead s777. Another major note is the fact that s777 is one of the few spinners who can spin a "DC Commssa" at such a high level. This black DC Commssa (Or possibly DC Black Bellcolour) contains no viewable grips or tips making this mod is actually one of the lightest mods in pen spinning, even lighter than an RSVP MX. s777 has shown his abilities in multiple collabs, but notably actually used a DC Commssa in the first round of the world tournament 2011. Usual when a spinner spins with mod lighter than his/her main mod, the spinner is not at this full ability. During this round however, s777 actually placed 1st out of the 8 world class spinners within that group. s777 probably did get extra marks or notices for control because of his mod choice, but non-the-less is still unheard of and an amazing feat.

s777 also has an ability to stay creative with his combos, in his own way. These range from incredble I-Sonic variations to cathcing finishers with his 2 feet clamping together. s777 also caters for moves that are rarely used, such as stalls, basketball spins, anti-gravities and 2p2h variations. s777 links are also equally creative, always having inverse and dexeteric varations swithcing from various finger slots.

Bonkuras Sucessor

s777 is also often dubbed as the "Bonkura successor", having notoble similarities in style, tricks, smoothness, tempo and dexterity especially in his 2007-2008 spinniner years. However, s777 has been able to always stand apart in hiw own way, being able to incorperate his own creative linkages and tricks, which ironically usually further places him in similar catagories to Bonkura (Bonkura is well known for being heavily creative with his own unique tricks). Because of this, it would be much more accurate to say that people catagorize him with Bonkura because he caries the "Bonkura spirit" rather then for being a complete "Bonkura clone".

Tohlz

Tohlz, also known as Toh L. Z. or Shawn Toh, is a moderator of the Universal Pen Spinning Board. He created the site PenstudioZ. He has also appeared in the UPSB/PenDolSa Collaboration video. He created the MonAmi JP Mod V1 (Final), previously known as a substitude for those without RSVP access, which later won the Kammy's Best Pen Modification Award.

Shawn is known to have started Continuous Backaround and for creating the HyperSonic, a Sonic combination so named for its high speed of execution. He is the inventor of Sonic Double 2x (now called Shadow 2.0 34-12) and the Sonic Clip hybrid. The Charge variations used within Sonic Clip were also invented by him (Charge 13, Charge 24). Some of his moves are inspired from other Hand Manipulations which includes Glowsticking, LighterTricks Manipulation, Xtreme Card Manipulation, Butterfly Knife Manipulation and Juggling.

He is currently inactive, enlisted in the National Service for his country.
Media Work

Shawn is featured in Singapore's The Straits Times newspaper under "25 Under 25 Young Achievers". He was among the 25 youths selected and featured for their achievements. Tricks galore at his fingertips.

Kam

Fernando "Kam" Kuo is a pen spinner who has been spinning since 1993. He is widely considered one of the most influencial people in Pen Spinning history, and has contributed greatly to the art of Pen Spinning. Contents [hide]

Website creation

Kam created the pen spinning website, Pentix, which opened in January 2000. The first version of the website is no longer online. The website was created to teach pen spinning, rather than just show photos or videos without explanations. The origins of the website can be found in the Pentix About page.

2003 brought an upgrade to Kam's website, Pentix, in the form of Pentrix - Pen Spinning Revolution, with high quality videos.

Community creation and involvement

The Pentix Users section listed various pen spinners and their emails to allow for personal communication between viewers of the Pentix website.

Pentix message board

In June 2002, the Pentix message board was created to replace the User section as a more effective way for pen spinners to communicate with each other.

Universal Pen Spinning Board

UPSB was opened to the public in January 2004.

Pen Spinning

In the early days of Pen Spinning, Kam was considered the best Pen Spinner on UPSB (and perhaps the rest of the world). However, his goal was never to be the best, but instead to push the boundaries and "revolutionize" the current view of Pen Spinning.

Creativity and Perfection

Kam's work is almost always creative and interesting to watch and he rarely showcased unperfected material. His Butterfly Combo was inspired by the basic opening move used by balisong (also known as butterfly knife) manipulators. The Leigun is also one of Kam's inventions, in which the pen is propelled from one hand in a gun shooting fashion.

Nhk 9

nhk_9, also known as nhk or by his real name, Darren Chan, is a moderator of the Universal Pen Spinning Board. He created the site The Troposphere. He also appears in part 2 of the UPSB + PDS videos.

nhk_9 is best known for his creativity and excellent standard of pen spinning. Examples of tricks he created are the BakRiser and PalmTap. He was also the first to do combos which are now common such as Quadruple infinity.

He has also popularized the use of the 3000*f, now considered a rare item and most sought after.

Phya is a beta-moderator on The Universal Pen Spinning Board.

Involvement in the community

He was a member of the UPSB Pen Spinning History Committee and Battle Records Committee (BRC). Phya maintained the board records on UPSB, organised the UPSB Tournament and the awards known as The Kammys.

Evolution

Phya is probably most famous for his video, Evolution, which showcased new/rare tricks such as Arm Roll, Elbow Catch + Elbow Pop and Gravity Backaround in an attempt to push pen spinning.

Zombo

Zombo is an ex-moderator of the Pentix Forum, ex-moderator of the Universal Pen Spinning Board (v2), administrator on UCPSB: the Collective Pen Spinning Board and UPSB V3 and Chairman of the Research Department. He was also a member of the Battle Records Committee (BRC) and Pen Spinning History Committee (PSHC) on UPSB. Zombo organized the UPSB/PenDolSa collaboration with the help of CLUBMA from PenDolSa.
